WECMRD is currently in the process of filling two open board positions. Nomination forms were due Friday, March 2, 2018 for an election on May 8, 2018.

May 8, 2018 Election Day Information:

This election will be a polling place election only. See bottom of this page for absentee ballot information.

Election Locations:
All locations will be open 7:00am-7:00pm and will have two election judges present

  1. Edwards – WECMRD Field House (450 Miller Ranch Rd, Edwards, CO 81632)
  2. Eagle – Eagle Pool & Ice Rink (1700 Bull Pasture Road, Eagle, CO 81631)
  3. Gypsum – Gypsum Rec Center (52 Lundgren Blvd, Gypsum, CO 81637)

Voter Eligibility:

You are eligible to vote in the Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District (District) election if you are:

  • Registered to vote in the State of Colorado

and either

a) A resident of the District; or

b) The owner (or the spouse or civil union partner of the owner) of taxable real or personal property situated within the boundaries of the District (see below to determine if your taxable property is located within the District).

A person who is obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase taxable property in the District is considered an owner for purposes of b) above.

The property owner must be a natural person, not a corporation, trust, partnership, etc.

A portion of WECMRD’s funding comes from property taxes within our district. In general our district runs from Edwards to Dotsero. CLICK HERE to view a map of the WECMRD district boundary. To find out if you’re within our district visit the Eagle County Assessor website and search for your property. If your property is associated with one of the below tax codes, you are eligible to vote on May 8, 2018.

All voters must bring one of the following acceptable forms of identification to vote:

  1. A valid Colorado driver’s license or valid identification card issued by the Colorado Department of Revenue. (Note: documents issued to not lawfully present and temporarily lawfully present individuals under Part 5 of Article 2 of Title 42, C.R.S. are not acceptable forms of identification.)
  2. A valid U.S. passport.
  3. A valid employee identification card with a photograph of the eligible elector issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. government or of Colorado, or by any county, municipality, board, authority, or other political subdivision of Colorado.
  4. A valid pilot’s license issued by the federal aviation administration or other authorized agency of the U.S.
  5. A valid U.S. military identification card with a photograph of the eligible elector.
  6. A copy of a current (within the last 60 days) utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the name and address of the elector.
  7. A Certificate of Degree of Indian or Alaskan Native Blood.
  8. A valid Medicare or Medicaid card issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  9. A certified copy of a U.S. birth certificate for the elector.
    Certified documentation of naturalization.
  10. A valid student identification card with a photograph of the eligible elector issued by an institute of higher education in Colorado, as defined in section 23-3.1-102(5), C.R.S..
  11. A valid veteran identification card issued by the U.S. department of veterans affairs veterans health administration with a photograph of the eligible elector.
  12. A valid identification card issued by a federally recognized tribal government certifying tribal membership.

Any form of identification listed above that shows your address must show a Colorado address to qualify as an acceptable form of identification.

Absentee Ballot Information for May 8, 2018 election:

Application must be filed by close of business Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Absentee ballot must be received by Election Judge or DEO by 7PM on election day, Tuesday, May 8, to be counted.
